Banharn Silpa-archa was the 21st Prime Minister of Thailand, from 13 July 1995 to 24 November 1996. He was a veteran Sino-Thai Member of Parliament since 1976 as the elected representative of Suphanburi province. He had made his fortune in construction before entering politics, and held different cabinet posts in several governments. He was involved in various corruption scandals during his premiership, which caused him to resign.
