TRADE IX KEEPING WITH SEASON. There is little to he said ahout <the summer husiness. It is moving along as usual, showing perhaps a slight in- crease in demand over that of a year ago. There is a fair assortment of flowers. Asters are now a factor, there being quite a good stock to select from. Maryland and the other summer roses are in good supply, the specials sell- ing very well. The beautiful ."America gladioli has been a leader for the past two weeks. It is certainly a superb flower. Easter lilies and valley are equal to the demand. There are also cattleyas for the choice work. The flower and plant department at the Snellenberg department store is to be on a larger scale than anything yet attempted in this line heretofore. .\ number of the stores have tried sales at Easter and Christmas. Wanamak- er's. at Easter especially, handling an immense lot of plants, but only theji. Steinhoff & Yerions, who will run this venture, are two young men with ex- perience, who are to have quite a space on the ground floor in the corner •at Twelfth and Girard streets. A re- frigerator costing .$(10 and other up- to-date fixtures are to be installed to make it an attractive store.
