British Railways class 37 diesel locomotive no 37419 on the rear of a passenger train from Lowestoft on the Wherry Lines in Norfolk, UK

Brundall railway station is on the Wherry Lines in the east of England, serving the village of Brundall, Norfolk. It is 5 miles 60 chains ( km) down the line from Norwich on the route to Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Until modernisation in 2018/9 the Wherry lines were signalled in the traditional way with mechanical semaphore signals, boxes and crossings operated by crossing keepers or signallers. The crossing here at Brundall still retained it's manually operated gates in 2019. Also up to 2019 some of the passenger trains were operated with mark 3 coaching stock top and tailed with class 37 diesel locomotives.
