German Evangelical society that once had a nourishing or-ganization there, but that has since gone down. The Campbell House which is still a prominent featurein the life of ElPaso, was built in 1863. The opera house wasbuilt in 1895. The upper story is owned by the MasonicFraternity while the lower story is owned by a stock com-pany, in which the controlling interest is held by A.
