The Greek navy patrol boat HS Ipoploiarhos Troupakis (P-23) escorts Daedalus 88, a human-powered pedal plane, as it flies over the Aegean on its 74-mile trip between Crete and Santorini. The plane was built by students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is being piloted by Greek national cycling champion Kanellos Kanellopolous. The flight was patterned after the Greek myth of Daedalus and his son, Icarus, who attempted to leave Crete by constructing wings with which to fly. Country: Aegean Sea
