Recruits with Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, receive a brief during a physical training session at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 11. Physical training is utilized not only to strengthen the body, but also to develop strong character and core values through teamwork. Today, all males recruited west of the Mississippi are trained at MCRD San Diego. The depot is responsible for training more than 16,000 recruits annually. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate March 1.
