Trillat, recognizing the defects of his own and other lamps, and beingconvinced of tiie futility of attempting to disengage the gas by evap-orating the aqueous solution from open vessels, whereby polymerizationis caused, attempted to devise an apparatus in which the aqueous solu-tion could be employed without the occurrence of this undesirablephenomenon.
