Quaint beasts are always excellent motifs in designs for thecrafts. The embossing here would come into play withgreat effect; but instead of incising use blind tooling to getthe effect shown in No. 67. In the heraldic beast thefoliated background should be kept pretty flat, so as to giveprominence to the animal.
