Aberystwtyth, Wales, UK. 24th Sep, 2016. Photographer JACK LOWE, grandson of ‘Dad's Army' actor Arthur Lowe, at Aberystwyth RNLI station photographing the crew and boats as part of his massive 5 year long project to document all 237 RNLI lifeboat stations in the UK, using an antique ‘plate' camera and the ‘wet collodion' process on 12”x10” glass negatives. Each negative has to be prepared by hand just before the photo is made, and he then has about 12 minutes to make the exposure and develop the image, which he does in an old ambulance he's converted into a mobile darkroom. © keith morris/Alam
