A late 19th century view of the bridge over the burn at Golspie after a winter snowfall. Golspie is a village and parish in Sutherland, Highland, Scotland, which lies on the North Sea coast. The bridge, created by Thomas Telford, was a rallying place of the Sutherland clan with the Gaelic inscription: "Morfhear Chatt/ do/ Cheann-na-Droichait big Gairn / Chlann Chattich / Nam Buadh". This means "The Chief of the Sutherland Clan to the head of the little bridge calls the Sutherland men of the victories."
