Northern Gannet (Morus bassanus, fka Sula bassana), on Ailsa Craig, a granite islet in the Firth of Clyde, Ayrshire, Scotland, UK

Ailsa Craig, nine miles off the Ayrshire mainland in south-west Scotland is famous for its granite, which is very much in demand for curling stones. It is also, since a successful rat eradication programme in the 1990s, a popular sea-bird colony, particularly for Northern Gannets.
