High drystone wall near the cliff edge at Rhoscolyn Head, Anglesey, North Wales, UK

A high well made, mainly drystone, wall between farmland and the cliffs protecting fields adjacent to Rhoscolyn Head. The wall is built on exposed rock outcrop very close to cliff edge, and the Coastal Path passes between them. The sheer cliffs are very popular with climbers with metal pitons banged into rock surface close to the cliff edge. Sean Adcock & Alex Turner repaired this wall in the late 1980s and Sean says it was built as part of an Aberystwyth University experiment to grow potatoes in the previously exposed fields.
