We have selected our American grown Paper Whites with the same care that we have learned to take in purchasing imported bulbs; keeping in mind the requirements of the greenhouse forcer. We have chosen the stock of growers of experience, whose technical ability has been demonstrated, who are in locations of favorable soil and climate and whose stocks have been tested for forcing. And, above all, we have chosen stocks that are free from insects and disease and will not have to be given the heat treatment before shipment. Our narcissus bulbs will carry certificates under the federal quarantine giving them a clean bill of health. We caution florists against buying for forcing purposes narcissi which have re- ceived heat treatment. Hardy Narcissi What we have said above about Paper Whites is also true about our hardy Narcissi. Besides growing 25 acres on our own farms we have contracted with growers in the States of Illinois, Washington, Oregon and Michigan. Their fields have also been inspected by our bulb manager and each case supplied to our customers will bear a certificate of inspection as to their condition. Florists inMinneapolis, Missouri, Illinois and New York have tried bulbs from these sources and were well satisfied.
