Children living half outside half in makeshift shelters near the ruins of homes destroyed in the 2005 earthquake. Most homes in the village were destroyed by the earthquake and only a handful of families remained thru the winter the rest fled to tent camps at lower elevations. This remote & muontainous part of the Northwest Frontier Province is still ruled by strong tribal elements of the Pashtun ethnic group and before the earthquake the Pakistan government had little presence or influence.
