Chrysanthe- mums of the large type are more in evi- dence, but the pompons and singles are scarce. Carnations are coming in more freely and are being disposed of daily. The price has been $3 and $4 per hundred, with fancies bringing $5 per hundred. Eoscs are abundant. ^Imost all va- rieties are available in good stock. These move none too briskly at from $4 per hundred up. Lilies are out of this market, having been unavailable for some time. Busi- ness, in general, has been fair and is gradually improving with the colder weather. Various Notes. The November meeting of the Indiana State Florists' Association will be held at the Baur & Steinkamp establishment at 2:30 p. m., November 1. Edward Larson, of this firm, will read a paper on hybridizing. Lawrence Lohman, of the Eichmond Greenhouses, and John Eitel, of Green- castle, were in the city this week. A. F. J. Baur reports that the premium list for the Carnation Society's show is being made ready and will be in the hands of the members within the next thirty days. On his return from the F. T.
