Among the unnoticed, but illustrious dead, lies the Prin-cess Elizabeth, second daughter of Charles the First. Anarched vault was discovered in 1793, and near it a stone,with the initials E. S. upon it, which marked the place of herinterment. The leaden coffin, in which her remains weredeposited, was found in a vault, which was perfectly drywhen it was opened, and the coffin in a state almost new,with the following inscription on it:— ELIZABETH,2d Daughter of the late KING CHARLES,Deced Sept. 8, MDCL.
