Nine hundred miles of this type of rail were laid in England prior to 1858, a mile or two also were laid on the Reading Railroad in the United States. "Between 5 and 6 miles of this rail, closely riveted together, were laid in England in 1850 and were iu use for several years without experi- encing any difficulty from ;* WW////M.
