Two stones & a slight mound in Applecross churchyard mark the traditional burial place (Cloadh Maree) of St Maelrubha who established a monastery on the site in 673 & died aged 80 in 722. Mound lies S of a ruined C15th chapel, the church, built 1817, houses fragments of cross-slabs from the Early Christian community.
