The melon from which the illustration was taken weighed eleven and one-half pounds, and measured twenty-eight and one- half inches in stem and blossom end circumference, being pract ically a perfect globe in shape. All the mel- ons were as "alike as two peas"—making it remarkably " thoroughbred?* The color of the skin is a handsome, medium dark green, with dim waterings of a darker green. The Hun- garian Honey Melon is very appropriately so called, as it is surpassingly sweet and LUSCIOUS, of a very rich honey flavor, richer and sweeter to the taste than any other watermelon. The melons ripen early; the vines are very productive. Per pkt. 5 cts.; oz. 10 cts.; % lb 30 cts.; per ft) $ BURPEE'S WHITE GEM. Perfectly round in shape, weighing fifteen to twenty pounds each, of a beautiful cream-white color when ripe, only faintly striped. The skin is so tough that a melon fully ripe will sup- port a man without even cracking the flesh— this notwithstanding that the rind is only a scant half-inch in thickness. In a cut melon the beautiful flesh seems almost to touch the skin. The flesh is a rich, bright pink, crisp, melting, very juicy, and deliciously sweet in flavor; fully as luscious as The Hungarian Honey. The skin is of an attract i ve, mottled, very light green color, so light as to nearly warrant the-name white or gray. The flesh is deep red in color and of very fine quality—fully equal to the old Icing.
