Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 128,604, dated July 2,1872. To all whom it may concern; Be it known that I, Thomas A. Edison, ofNewark, in the county of Essex and State ofNew Jersey, have invented an Improvementin Printing-Telegraphs; and the following isdeclared to be a correct description thereof. This invention relates to combining withthe printing-lever an air-cushion that acts asa detainer to the printing mechanism so as toprevent it operating, except after the type-wheel has been set by the pulsations in themain line, and the circuit is kept closed whilethe air-cushion is sufficiently displaced to per-mit the impression.
