Sand-filled gully at low tide, Chesterman Beach, Tofino, British Columbia, Canada
The Pacific Coast of Vancouver Island is sparsely settled, with a high level of terrestrial and marine biodiversity. A popular place to experience this is the Pacific Rim National Park encompassing the towns of Tofino and Ucluelet in the mid-coastal area. Chesterman Beach, south of Tofino is a great place to go at low tide to experience the coastal scenery and the biodiversity of the intertidal zone.
