Large wagons are used to transport cane to raw sugar factories Cane is crushed and the juice is boiled to make a thick syrup that is separated into sugar crystal raw sugar and molasses The cane by product is bagasse which is used as a fuel to power the factory and as a cellulose source for ethanol bio fuel
