Asa Fisher was the original owner and later sold the residence to the State of North Dakota for $ in 1893. The 1903 carriage house is on the left. In 1898 Governor Frank Briggs died in the master bedroom of the mansion due to tuberculosis. Many believe his spirit and perhaps others haunt this house today.
