London, UK. 10th April, 2015. The Royal National Lifeboat Institute held their second ‘Alternative Boat Race’ comprising of 250 miniature lifeboats each sponsored for £250 to raise funds for the charity. The race was between Barnes and Chiswick bridge with the sponsor of the first boat to pass the finishing line winning the opportunity to name a new D class lifeboat. Hannah White (broadcaster, sailor and adventurer) compered the event in front of the Ship Inn in Mortlake and a boat sponsored by John Hicks eventually won the race. A number of lifeboats were in attendance at the event. © Emma
