A model 1872 helmet for a dragoon brigadier, period of the III Republic for ca. 1900 Steel skull with gilt brass mountings. Two silver stars for a brigadier general on the forehead emblem plate, metal chinscales backed with leather covered with black velvet, gold-stamped leather lining, a leather-lined peak (somewhat damaged), a red-white-blue-feather plume, and a black falling horsehair crest. A maker's label inside the helmet, reading "Alexis Godillot à Paris - 59".
