The Embassy Theatre Cinema. Designed by Llewelyn Williams, it opened in 1924 with the name "De Luxe", which was later changed to "The Embassy". It was substantially remodeled prior to hosting the world premiere of Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King". It maintains close links with WETA Peter Jackson's Wellington based production company. Set at the end of Wellington night spot Courtney Place it is always at the hub of Wellington social scene.
