His ironing-tables are rather narrow,but a good idea in hisplan is that of keepingthe wet floor of the wash-house a couple of stepsbelow the level of theironing and finishingroom. The designs ofMr. Macfarlane and are also of asimple character, but thesemicircular ironing-tableshown in the plan of theformer would, we think,be found inconvenient inpractice.
