It frequents woods, the old birds perching on the summits of the trees, andsoaring with rapid flight, while the young generally remain in the lower parts of thetrees, sitting motionless, with the head contracted between the shoulders. In theirnative state they live on wild fruits, and in confinement on iilmost anything that ispresented to EUIIYCEROS This bird is a species inhabiting jMadagascar, and has been placed by Losson in aseparate family. • B.
