WILLIAM RENNIE, TORONTO, CANADA. TOMATOES. Fr.—Tormate. Ger.—IAebesapfel. (1 oz. to 1,500 plants.) Culture.—Sow in hot-bed in March; when two inches high transplant into pots, boxes or another bed. and attend to them care- fully until danger of frost is past, then transplant them permanently into a warm situation, fully exposed to the sun. Support with brush or trellis to keep the fruit off the ground. Pinch the ends off, to hasten ripening, after the fruit begins to set. J. Canada. 4. Bed Peach, f. Ponderosa. 5. Yellow Peach 3. Plentiful. 6. Yellow Plum. 7- Extra Early Atlantic. 8. Ear liana. 9. Mikado. 10. Dwarf Champion. 11. LENTIFUL is still the very best all-round Tomato for general cultivation. Many " mammoth'1'' sorts have been introduced of late, but on first trial they are rejected on account of their rough and uneven surface, if for nothing else. When, therefore, we state that in addition to its very large size, it is also smooth and uniform, we are sure we have said enough to enlist the attention of Tomato growers everywhere. This is not all, how- ever, for although its large size might lead some to believe the fruits are few in number, yet the fact is it is an enormous yielder ; by actual count 157 marketable Tomatoes were picked from a single plant. The Tomatoes are borne in immense clus- ters of six to eight extra large fruits, and occasionally ten large fruits have been found in single clusters. In solidity and meatiness it has no equal, and in desirable quality none surpass it. The color is that pinkish shade so much admired. It is not extra early, but simply the best main crop Tomato ever put on the market, and whether grown in a private or market garden is bound to receWe unstinted praise from everyone.
