La Grand Place, Grote market, UNESCO, world cultural heritage, city hall, place, tourist. Belgium, Europe, Bruxelles, Brussels. Two Chinese are photographed on the Grand Place. Known for its beautiful architecture, this is the main square in Brussels and is ranked as one of the best decorated the world. It was inscribed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO in 1998, and it buildings of vital importance as no less picturesque fifteenth century Gothic town hall and others dating from the seventeenth century are located. Unfortunately, in 1965, during the War of the League of Augsburg, most of the buildings, to be wood, were reduced to ashes, resisting only some that were built in stone. Then the merchants gathered in the area and build again, this time in stone, the colossal architectural ensemble that we see today. In August, every two years, horticulturists Ghent placed a carpet of flowers which occupies 25 X 75 meters in the middle of the square.
