This company was alsothe maker of Palmer tires, which demon-strated the speed of single tubes, but notproving as durable as desired, owing to theuse of open thread fabrics, the companysextensive experience enabled them to builda tire of equal speed, and, by the use ofclosely woven fabric, added the desireddurability. Mr. Davies was also founder ofthe extensive bicycle and sporting goodsbusiness of H. P. Davies & Co., Limited,Toronto, importers of the Beeston Humber,Rudge and Columbia bicycles, which was. Dorken Bros. & Co., Montreal. ing, as is the crank bracket, and doublyreinforced throughout. The spring temper-ing given all Wolff-American frames is saidto be a secret process, which every frameundergoes before enameling. It has theeffect of equalizing the temper of everymolecule of steel in the frames, imparts aspringiness which adds to its life and in-creases the frames strength fully 25 percent.
