The warbler hovers beautifully in the air SURREY, ENGLAND IMAGES of a dartford warbler hovering in the air like a hummingbird have been captured.  Images show the scarcely seen ecologically threatened dartford suddenly appearing to hover in the air like a perfect ball.  When the UK's breeding population of Dartford warblers crashed in the 1960s, shockingly only 10 pairs remained.  Today, there are about 3,200 pairs nesting on our lowland heaths. These images were captured by photographer Lee Tilley (47) from London, England.  Lee captured the happy dartford warblers on his Canon R6 with Sigma 150-600mm Chobham Common, Surrey, England. ?Usually a shy bird, I was pleased to have this moment with it,? he said.  ?Dartfords are relatively scarce and it's not easy to spot dartfords as they are an Amber listed species under threat and are found in particular grasslands and heaths; only about 3,200 pairs remain.  ?I felt fantastic capturing them as they are a lovely little character filled bird. ?I love the one of the bird staring directly at me before it jumped, it shows real character and attitude.  ?These birds are hard to see as they are pretty scarce and often shy. ?Luckily these ones got used to my presence and allowed for some great ENDS
