View of many of the about 30 participating Nauticat motorsailers from Scandinavia decorated with signal flags taking part in the Scandinavian Nauticat Rally 2012 in Rungsted, Denmark Nauticat Club Denmark hosted The Scandinavian Nauticat Rally for yachting enthusiasts from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland in the harbour of Rungsted on the Danish island Zealand, right between Elsinore and Copenhagen. About 30 boats participated, all with raised signal flags and thus made a very spectacular sight in the sunlit harbour during this second Scandinavian Nauticat Rally. Nauticat is a four-seasons’ motorsailer built by Nautical Yachts OY, Finland – often owned by pleasant and friendly people who enjoy sailing and meeting like-minded and socialise in the sailing season. Just like the owners of vintage Rolls Royce cars, motorbikes, etc. More than 3,200 Nauticats of different types built since the mid 60's are spread all over the world - but especially attractive to the Scandinavian yachtsmen and women. Perhaps due to the spaciousness and insulation which enables a nearly four-season use of these boats in the cold Nordic waters. The programme for the weekend ranged from "Open Boat" arrangements to escursions and a number of social events before Sunday morning's goodbye and flotilla of leaving Nauticat boats in the Sound.
