The flesh iswhite and solid. Each vine jiroduces 5 to 15 melons sofilled with fruit that a large sized one will make asmany pies as a half bushel of apples. They keep freshand solid all winter, so can be used when wanted, andowing to their value as stock food, any surplus not usedfor home cooking can be fed all winter to stock.
