On arrival in France he was sentto a British training school for a three-months course and was then assigned toCompany L, 26th Infantry. On the 24thof May, while leading his platoon. Lieu-tenant Peterson was so severely wounded,that death resulted six weeks later. Lieu-tenant Peterson was not married. He issurvived by his father and mother, Mrs. Andrew Peterson, who reside inLamberton, Minn., where his father is en-gaged in farming. 2nd Lt. ANDREW P. PETERSON. Aftera public school education he enteredthe University of Illinois, graduating in1916. He then entered the employ of theLeonard Construction Company, Chicago,as an architect, which position he relin-quished to enter the Second OfficersTraining Camp at Fort Sheridan, wherehe was assigned to the 20th receiving his commission he vi^asordered to France, sailing on January 1 9,1918. Upon arrival overseas. LieutenantPeterson v^ras given further military in-struction in A. E. F. schools and thenassigned to the I 8th Company of the5th Marines. On May 26th he was as-signed to the 49th Company and lost hislife
