This is evidentlyCardington near Bedford, as theword Bedford is scribbled on theinside of the binding. There are a variety of memorandascribbled in this book, such as— Lenerde Butnian ys a knave; Tho(mas) my wel beloved; Thomas Canon est stultus !; asif schoolboys had been allowed toscribble in it. The names of But-man, Allen, Morgan, Walford, andMellam (?) occur amongst the memo-randa. The book is imperfect; somehymns at the end are in a laterhand. The binding is evidentlyoriginal: it is of wood covered withdeerskin, and lined with vellum. 12016 14.
