Amalia Glacier, Chile

Amalia Glacier, Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, Chile. A United Nations study in 2018 found that 95 percent of Chile's 24,100 glaciers had receded. This tidewater glacier has been receding steadily, having shrunk by 7 kilometres from 1945 to 1986. Along with climate change, industrial activities such as mining are major threats.
