Cw 8161 Full Foulridge upper reservoir Foulridge upper reservoir on the morning of Tuesday After the winters rain the water levels are well up in this reservoir that feeds down through the Foulridge lower reservoir and then into Barrowford reservoir before the water is released into the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The CRT reservoir watch report for December 2022 indicates that the seven reservoir’s, Rishton, Barrowford, Upper and Lower Foulridge, Slipper Hill, Whitemoor and Winterburn that supply the Leeds and Liverpool where at capacity compared to the Lancaster canal which is at 100%. The lower holdings on the Leeds and Liverpool reservoirs are due mainly to work stabilise the surrounding embankment around Barrowford that have over run on the original plan. Barrowford was drained in September 2021 and has not been refilled since. Hopefully the work will be completed in time to enable the water to be let back in and be ready for use in the Leeds and Liverpool canal in the coming summer and thus avoiding too serious water restrictions of the last couple of years.
