On the lid is engraved the weapon of Wassenaar (with heart shield duvenvoirde) within a leaf wreath. Probably manufactured for Arent van Wassenaar Duvenvoirde, lord of Duvenvoirde (1610-1681) or his son Jacob (1649-1707). Via the granddaughter of the last Jacoba Maria (1709-1771), married to Frederik Willem Torck (1691-1761) in possession of the Torck family; later inherited to the Van Pallandts. Silver unnoticed.
