A fourth has beenbroken off. The diameter of the case is about five inches and a half. The workmanship displayed upon this beautiful mirror case is quiteequal to the design ; and it has been well and carefully preserved, the onlyinjury being the loss of one lion. It is also worthy of special study andexamination, as furnishing an excellent illustration of this particular portionof the history of the siege, in which at last the defenders of the castlesurrender it. The attack is an equally frequent subject; where the ladiesresist the knights by throwing down on them showers of roses. Bought for 50/.
