A burgonet, Italy, circa 1580 One piece hammered skull with a flat corded comb. There are two holes in the comb for attaching a feather plume. Riveted brim, and a neck protector with single lame. Hinged cheekpieces, each with a turned under and corded rim. Above the hinges grinded rivets/hinge pins possible signs of earlier use. Old repair on the left. Surrounding lining holes.
