There are but twotheatres on the avenue, the Grand Opera House, corner 23d Street, where Illustrated Guide to New York City. 43 all the leading plays are produced at popularprices, and Harry Miners Variety Theatre,near 25th Street. From 59tli to 110th Streets is now calledCentral Park West. On this portion of theavenue, at 72d Street, are the famous DakotaFlats, said to be 160 feet high. From 77th to81st Streets is Manhattan Square, the largebuilding occupying the centre of the park isthe Museum of Natural History ; it is open tothe public without charge on Wednesday,Thursday, Friday and Satur-day of every week
