Norwood—New, black; large, of good quality, vigorous, healthy, productive. Suitable for the amateur only. Ripens with or soon after the Concord. Norton's Virginia—A black wine grape. Highly esteemed at the South. Ripens late; bunch long, berries small; a rank grower, healthy and pro- ductive. Perkins—Pale red. Ripens before Concord; bunch medium, berry large, sweet and juicy, but foxy. Vine a rank grower, healthy, hardy and productive. Pocklington—This is becoming more popular every year as a valuable market grape, it being so large and showy in both bunch and berry. Compact and of a beautiful golden color. Quality about as good as the Concord, with which it ripens, by some liked even better. Vine vigor- ous and very healthy, hardy and productive. Prentiss—A white variety of good quality; bunch and berry medium to large, compact, vigorous and very productive; keeps well. Rather late and tender. Rochester—A red grape of high quality; ripen- ing early. Bunch very large and compact; ber- ries medium, very sweet rich and aromatic. Inclined to overbear.
