Maj. Gen. Al Dohrmann presented Col. Todd Schaffer with the Legion of Merit for his service as the State Medical Readiness Detachment commander and State Surgeon for the North Dakota Army National Guard, from October 2015 to April 2023. Schaffer's extraordinary efforts brought North Dakota to the top of the nation for both medical and dental readiness.
