Tyrrhenian Painted Frog (Discoglossus sardus), Isola del Giglio, Tuscany, Italy


Tyrrhenian Painted Frogs are localized amphibians that live in Corsica, Sardinia and some small islands, including some of the Tuscan islands off the west coast of Italy. This picture was taken at Isola del Giglio, where they can be found in the few freshwater springs present. They can be hard to spot due to their excellent camouflage, as shown in this photograph
