Railway Level crossing just East of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch is a lengthened form of the village name with 58 characters and is held to be the longest name in the UK and Europe and the second longest on-word place name in the world. The village is located in the Isle of Anglesey, Wales, located on the Menai Strait close to the Britannia Bridge. The name is also shortened to Llanfair PG, to distinguish it from other places in Wales called Llanfair (meaning "[St. Mary's church")
