The firft lot lyas divided into three qualities ; the firft, confifting of virgin flcins, or thofe the fur of which is clean and of an uniform colour J the fecond confifts of thole that are a litdc damaged, but ftill fine j the third confifts of fuch as are foiled, mixed, and therefore only fit to be fulled or felted by the hat-maker. It would, I think, ,be a4vantageous to bring a great part of thefe to France, in Qr4er \o fubmiy them to different ex- j/criments. The entire otter ffelns, thofe upon the flips of woollen cloth, and the beaver flcins, were all re- duced to fi^uare feet, and eftimated, piece by piece, according Sik.
