Saturday 9th June Blenheim Palace, UK. Brothers Alistair and Jonny (Jonathan) Brownlee ahead of the field in the Elite Sprint Triathlon Race.

The Brownlee brothers seen here on the bike leg of the triathlon made mince meat of the rest of the field. They both came in together to win the Elite Senior male Sprint Triathlon at Blenheim Palace. The previous course record that has stood set by Tim Don of 59 mins 30 seconds was convincing broken by the two brothers . They crossed the finish line today in 57mins 16 seconds and had even slowed down at this stage to tag the crowd of spectators. The third place time set by Mark Buckingham of would have been a record but for these world class brothers who pipped it. Alistair has taken a 3 week recovery from an injury and this is his comeback debut. The Brownlee brothers are Olympic hopefuls for gold 2012, who from the brothers it will be is anyones guess though.
