Montu thr falcon-headed god, standing, chendjit loincloth, pschent crown, double uraeus, beast's tail, ousekh collar, holding, sign Ankh. Limestone . Height: 62 cm; Width: 30 cm; Thickness: cm. Sully room 324. Montu was a falcon-god of war in ancient Egyptian religion, an embodiment of the conquering vitality of the pharaoh. He was particularly worshipped in Upper Egypt and in the district of Thebes.
