Testicular cancer and hernia. Close-up of the groin of a 60-year-old male patient with a seminoma affecting the left testicle (right), causing it to become enlarged, and an inguinal (scrotal) hernia (upper centre). Seminoma is a malignant (cancerous) germ cell tumour that originates in the seminiferous tubules of the testes (testicles). It is the most common form of testicular cancer. A hernia occurs when an organ, such as a loop of the intestine, protrudes from a weak area in the body wall. Here, the intestines are protruding through a weak area in the abdominal muscles, into the inguinal canal.
